in Bend, Oregon in 2003 and privately owned, the company brings together one of the most
experienced design teams in solar power electronics to tackle three significant issues affecting
the growth of solar power usage worldwide – (1) dramatically improving the reliability of inverters,
(2) decreasing system lifecycle costs and (3) making distributed PV a scalable and controllable
resource on the utility grid. With the industry’s first standard 10-year nationwide warranty and
optional 20-year extended warranty, we stand behind our products in ways that count.
PV Powered strives to offer our customers choice. We offer a range of performance monitoring,
DC-DC conversion technology and other balance of system solutions through partnerships with
industry technology leaders. Our performance monitoring partnerships enable factory integration
and testing of components, reducing the cost and improving the ease of installation for our
customers.
Poised for future growth
Our focus on reliability, lifecycle cost, and ability to offer our customers the solutions they need
has enabled PV Powered to experience triple digit growth over the past two years. Three years
ago, we were a staff of approximately 20 people, had 5 residential products, and a handful of
customers. Today we are rapidly moving towards a staff of 100 people, have a portfolio of over
15 products shipping that includes commercial and utility scale solutions up to 1 MW in size. PV
Powered is viewed as the innovation leader in a market that is projected to grow at a 30%+ CAGR
for the next 20 years.

As the level of distributed solar increases, there will be a need for PV systems to provide their host
utility with much greater awareness, control and grid support functions than what is available
today. PV Powered was recently selected to receive a Stage 2 award under the Solar Energy Grid
Integration System (SEGIS) program by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The company
is developing innovations that increase energy harvest, reduce the cost of PV systems, and is
aggressively investing in solving the critical challenges of solar as a mainstream power source by
partnering with industry leaders driving the foundation of the Smart Grid.
